A large, round silvery fish with deep purple lines running from head to tail.
A single long dorsal fin with a black rim on tail Has a small mouth with small sharp teeth.
Found over sea grass beds and rocky and sandy bottoms down to about 300 m.
Spawning occurs in April and May. The Black sea bream lays its eggs on a nest that the male
excavates on the sand with its tail.
