Suitable DisplayDome Tank
Dragonets have a flattened body with no scales.
The head is a triangle shaped with the eyes positioned on top of the head.
Males have two dorsal fins, the first triangular, tall and shaped like a ships sail while the second dorsal fin has bright blue lines. Females are slightly shorter and reddish brown in colour with white fins.
Dragonets live on the seabed, often partially buried in the sand.
Can be found as deep as 430 m.
The young males are very similar to the adult females in appearance, but the adult males have more brightly coloured spots and an impressive and highly distinctive long dorsal fin.
